Saturday Foo & Ninjitsu

In case you missed it, Jim Boykin wrote a great post this week, Why that site with 50 backlinks beats your site with 1000 backlinks. I think we all ocassionally tend to overcomplexify SEO and link building, focusing on numbers or other mostly meaningless data, when instead we should be focusing on macro-trends (in this case, the trend is quality over quantity).

I would also like to use this post as a time to start a little petition for one of Jim's former projects that he canceled:

That is all, please resume your weekend relaxation.

  1. Thanks for the kind words..nice graphics too! I just found it that program on Digg and had just put in on my myspace page (myspace link in my name) and 2 seconds later I see it here - nice!

Still not sure about the link ninjas...but think we're planning a SEO Powwow at the grand canyon in april or may of 2007. Would love to see you there!

  3. What a great interview. It certainly explained to me why some of my sites were not accepted. I am looking forward to work on my sites so in future I will become part of TLA. For now I am just loving your affiliate program guys. Keep up the good job!

  5. Yes Jim, please bring back LinkNinjas! (I missed the first/only one because I was laid off).

But SEO Powwow in the Grand Canyon? Void of WiFi and cell phones? A bunch of SEOs left to their own devices sounds like trouble. It's only 3 hours away. I'm in!
